TOURNAMENT RULES:
System of Play & Time Control:
The championship shall be played as per FIDE Laws of Chess for a total of 10-rounds Swiss- league.Each player shall have 90 minutes for the entire game with an increment of 30 seconds/move starting from the first move.
Default Time:
Any player who arrives at the chessboard after 15-minutes from the start of the game shall lose the game.
Thus, the default time is 15 minutes.
Pairings and Results :
Pairings will be made using a Swiss-manager program approved by FIDE.
Cross-pairing may be done in the first round to ensure balanced pairings and competitive games. Pairings will be published at least one hour before the start of each round.
Results must be reported to the arbiter immediately after the game ends.

Tie Break:
Following is the order of tie-break:

Protest:
Protest, if any, against the decision of the Chief Arbiter shall be made in writing with a protest fee of Rs.1500/- within 30 minutes of the occurrence of the incident. The protest fee will be refunded if the appeal is up held.
Appeals Committee :
Before the commencement of the tournament, a five-member appeals committee shall be formed by the organizers. All the members and reserves shall be from different states. No member of the Committee can vote on a dispute in which a player from his own State is involved and, in such case, the reserve member shall take his place in the committee.
Interpretation:
For interpretation of the rule(s) and deciding any point not covered by the above rules of the tournament, the decision of the Tournament Committee shall be final and binding on all. The Tournament Committee has every right to make any addition or amendment to these rules, without notice. However, such changes/ or inclusion will be subject to AICF clearance. Such changes will, however, be displayed in the tournament hall.
REGISTRATION OF PLAYERS WITH AICF:
All participants of the tournament shall be registered with AICF for the year 2024-2025. Online AICF registration can be done at the website www.aicf.in/players
ELECTRONIC DEVICES:
All electronic items including wrist watches (all type of watches) are not allowed in the tournament hall. Players found in possession of the items will be declared lost.
